New? Start Here

Reading a blog for the first time can be overwhelming – wanting to understand the subtle references to previous life events but not knowing how or when to find them, and I want to make sure anyone who wants to know me through this medium gets to know me. This blog has gone through so many iterations in its few years: new boys and new friends and new life directions, that no matter where you start, you could find a different person, a different LB. But let’s be real – who even has time for that?!

Consider this the CliffsNotes to the Chronicle: If you’re going to start anywhere, start with these. These give the best history of my life since I started capturing it here, and these are a great place to get started if you want to keep reading this blog – which I hope you do! And you should, because I’m not saying it’s the best page on the internet, but in my expert opinion, it’s pretty damn close.

  • The Worst Decision (Posted Feb. 3, 2014)
This is the first-ever entry on this blog, so obviously it’s a good place to start. But on a deeper level – this story was the beginning of a period of growth that feels unparallelled. I don’t even know who that person is anymore who wrote the entry, but I’m so happy she was brave enough to put this all out there in an effort to move forward.
  • Tangible, Real and Entirely Mine (Posted April 22, 2015)
This is a good overview of how yoga has completely and irrevocably changed my life for the absolute better.
  • Volar (Posted Aug. 21, 2015)
I love this entry for so many reasons. When I reference the “big change” in 2016, this is the entry that started it all.
(What was the big change? It was something that surprised me in the end too. Check out Swan Song Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 for more details)
  • And I Sighed (Posted Nov. 15, 2014)
One of the last entries about the ex that started the whole Chronicle. I wrote this from a very raw place of nostalgia for heartbreak, and I think it’s an important entry to reflect on how much growth I’d done in just a year, at that time.
  • PLD Montage (Vol. 4, Austin Edition) (Posted Jul. 16, 2014)
Easily my favorite stupid decision round-up. A good overview of the dumb things I do when around my college girlfriends and vodka.
  • Just a little, oh little (Posted November 6, 2014)
This is a bit more of a random entry, but it’s important all the same. This was probably the best pre-cursor to 2015, where I took a year off from men and dating to reflect. Many of the reasons why I needed that year alone are contained in this post, whether I’d intended to do so or not.
  • A Story, One Year Later (Posted May 19, 2015)
A story of a meet-cute and subsequent heartbreak. If you see a post where I mention The Child and are curious, this is the entry with your answers. Most of them, at least.
  • Chronicle Q&A (Posted February 4, 2015)
On the one-year anniversary of the blog I answered some oft-asked questions about blogging. Enjoy!
  • Three Questions (Posted September 2, 2015)
Inspired by a TED talk podcast, these are three essential questions about me, answered.
